Oracle 10G clone copy of database using HP Business Copy

Hi,
We are trying to clone an Oracle 10G running database using Business copy. Can you tell me if the pairspilt is a "consistent" spilt of the primary volumes ? - i.e similar operation to EMC timefinder "consistent" option when running the split commands. Alternatively, we have the option to put the DB in hotbackup mode etc - does anyone have the relevant documentation to do that ? Tony

Can you provide more details?
For example: OS type, server type, file systems type etc...
I have done cloning of Oracle database using Business copy.
In general, procedure will be something like that:
1. put the DB in backup mode
2. execute sssu script that creates snapclones (which has to be tested before)
3. put DB back in normal mode
4. present snapclones to hosts
5. import volumes or file systems (depends on fstype and OS)
6. modify DB as needed
Maybe I did not understand the question?
In vino veritas, in VMS cluster

Vladamir, Thank you for your response. Your response is absolutely correct. We are just looking for the correct documentation / script examples using HP Business copy in order for us to complete the implementation. We are migrating from EMC to HP and we were using a "consistent" split copy method without touching the source DB (no hotbackup mode etc ). Can you provide some documentation ? Tony
