Share Your Tech Knowledge and Win a Pocket PC in the ITRC Forums Contest!

Hello Everyone,

As many of you know, the ITRC Forums is more than just a message board. It is an active, intelligent, and highly knowledgeable online community. The ITRC Forums is a way for you to network and interact with others in your profession. The ITRC Forums members recognize you for your contributions to the community by awarding points to when your help is found valuable.

For a limited time, we are sponsoring the "ITRC Forums Rising Star Contest". The contest will run for two months, July 1 ??? August 31, 2002. At the conclusion of the contest, the winner will be the forums member who has the greatest relative increase in his/her total points during either of the two months. This means that your relative increase will be tracked separately for each month. To be eligible, you must have earned at least 50 points prior to the start of either month.

For example, if you have 50 points at the start of July, you are entered into the contest. If you earn 50 more points in July, you will have achieved a 100% increase. Your total points entering August is now 100. If you earn 50 more points in August, your relative increase for August is only 50%. Therefore, your increase of 100% will be considered your entry number. If you do not have the necessary 50 to be eligible for July, but accumulate at least 50 before August 1, your relative increase in August will be counted for the contest.

Two winners will be selected! The winners will be chosen based on their highest relative increase in total points accumulated during either the July or August periods, rounded to a tenth of a percent. In the event of a tie, the person with the highest total points for the month wins.

So, post messages of value, share your IT knowledge with other professionals, be rewarded by your peers with points, and experience an opportunity to win a Jornada Pocket PC!

So, it is in our best interests to not post any answers between now and July 1, right?

Hi Michael,

I suppose vincent says it best. :)

You've been a nice contributor and a member long enough to know that the ITRC Forums are truly a great place for the exchange of knowledge, experience and tips among IT professionals. The contest is in fun - enjoy it and good luck (another 92 points and you are at a 100% increase!).

Thanks,
Dan

Dan,
What are you guys thinking? This ought to fan the flames of the problem with people not assiging points. Instead of just being an issue with people being inconsiderate, you now have a prize at stake.
My prediction is the end of July and August will be like it is with salespeople trying to get one more deal at the end of the month. The points hounds will be flooding the forums with messages chastizing people for not assigning points.
Throw some more gas on that fire.

Hi All,

Just a note to have some fun during July in the forums contest! We'll try to post how things are going in mid-july, and will have results at end of the month. As someone said earlier, please behave yourselves!

Take care,
Dan
