some time ago I had the UWIn by (AT&T) installed on on PC and it worked very well.
Now I'm trying to download it again but I'm encountering some problem on it.
It seems that to install it, it's necessary to start with INIT package, but this requires another UNIX like environemnt to run!.
Do someone already try this?
Any suggestions?

Solutionhttp://unxutils.sourceforge.net/
http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/
These may be the same thing.
The second one supposedly works on Vista.

Re: UNIX on Windows
Like Laurent I use cygwin to provide a Unix look & feel under windows, and to get an X-server. Works fine for me.
I'm also playing with the (free download) Microsoft Virtual PC 2007, giving me a pc-in-a-pc, ready to run an other windows version or linux... but not hpux.
Yo should also check out VMware for virtual PC style solutions.
( So what does this question have to do with HPUX other than the fact that the HPUX ITRC folks are generally nice and helpful folks? :-)
hth,
Hein.

Re: UNIX on Windows
I posted here this question because I was quite sure that people loving UNIX most probbaly have a UNIX available on PC to perform in a easy way bothering task under Windows as multirename, sort and so on.
In specific since now I don't have anymore access to a Unix box I'd like to contributre to the forum trying solution on my PC.
