What did your Web search for:
      vim hp-ux
find?  Mine led to:

      http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Editors/vim-8.1/

You could also download the source, and built it from that:

      https://www.vim.org/

Re: vim editor in HP-UX

You should use swlist to see what's there.  And possibly skip tutor.

Re: vim editor in HP-UX

Hi.

This is the output for swlist

I removed the vim and re-installed it.

I can't disable tutor when I install it.

Re: vim editor in HP-UX

What does this show: swlist -l fileset -l file vim

Please include the text and not a picture.

Have you tried removing /usr/local/share/vim/ first?

Have you made sure the checksum on the depot matches that on the webpage?

Re: vim editor in HP-UX

Hi again.

# swlist -l fileset -l file vim
# initializing
# Contacting target "PA30"...
ERROR: Software "vim" was not found on host "PA30:/”.

# cd usr
# cd local
# cd share
# ls
aclocal don gettext info locale man tabset termifo

Since there is no vim, I think I removed the /usr/local/share/vim.

How to check the checksum?

Thank you.

Re: vim editor in HP-UX

Since not installed, you need to look into depot:

swlist -l fileset -l file -s /abs-path-to-depot vim

>  How to check the checksum?

The page where you downloaded it should mention it.  And the algorithm.  You may have to download other tools like openssl.

Re: vim editor in HP-UX

I downloaded the vim editor from
http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Editors/vim-8.0/
I downloaded the FTP one
Then, I unzipped at PC and upload to HP-UX
The location is /tpm/vim
------------
# swlist -l fileset -l file -s /abs-path-to-depot vim
# initializing...
# Contacting target "PA30"...
ERROR: The expected depot or root does not exist at "/abs-path-to-depot".
ERROR: There is currently no depot software on host "PA30" at location "/abs-path-to-depot". Make sure that an absolute pathname is specified for location (beginning with "/").

Re: vim editor in HP-UX

The location is /tpm/vim

# swlist -l fileset -l file -s /abs-path-to-depot vim

that should be

swlist -l fileset -l file -s /tpm/vim vim

(assuming /tmp/vim is the path to the depot file that you unzipped)
