Yahoo is starting an emc list group: emc_list
I received an invitation today to join an EMC mail list group on Yahoo.
I think this would be a good thing, like hpux-admin has been.
I could use something like this to discuss EMC software/hardware issues, like PowerPath, EMC Control Center, Timefinder/BCV, SRDF, ESN Manager, etc.
I enclose directions for those interested.
I hope that nobody objects to this posting.
emc_list@yahoo.com has invited you to join the emc_list group!
(This invitation will expire in 7 days.)
A message from emc_list@yahoo.com:
Hello,
I invite you to join a list which is dedicated to EMC issues.
"The purpose of this group is to fill the void in the mailing list
universe regarding questions/issues/help on EMC Hardware and Software. "
Please join and share.
Join this group!

Re: Yahoo is starting an emc list group: emc_list
I am not speaking for EMC.
A Yahoo group will include people from all platforms ranging from wintel servers to Unisys. I am not opposed to anyone discussing anything in any format. I am just pointing out that for every post that discusses using PowerPath on an rp5400 with HP-UX 11i there will be five posts discussing using FICON on an IBM mainframe and the like. Not all of the information would be useful to all people. This is the case at the EMC list:
emc-l@lists.blinky-lights.org.
There is an exclusively HP oriented list sponsored by Interex's sig EMC at emc@interex.org. Let us not forget the interesting and informative interaction that occurs right here in the HP Forums. These lists are geared toward the HP user community.
Whatever happens I sincerely hope that the exchange of information continues and continues to grow.
