Detailed Guide to Using Hikvision IP DVR
User Guide for Hikvision DVR
These are the basic steps you need to follow right after powering on the device for the first time.
Step 1: Connect the DVR to the TV monitor
First, connect the DVR to a display monitor. Then check and confirm that the screen resolution is set correctly to either VGA or HDMI to ensure the video signal is transmitted accurately.
Step 2: Disable the Quick Setup Wizard
When the device starts up, an automatic setup window will appear. To access advanced settings, you need to disable this wizard. Simply uncheck “Start wizard when device starts” and click Cancel.
Step 3: Turn off the Beeping Alarm Sound
The beeping sound usually indicates issues related to PAL/NTSC checks or the hard disk status. To disable it, go to the DVR’s Main Menu, select Configuration, then Exception. Under Exception Type, choose HDD Full to display the list, then select All and click Apply to save.
Step 4: Switch to PAL Video System
To ensure proper image display in Vietnam, you should switch to the PAL system. In the configuration interface, navigate to the General tab, select PAL, and click Apply to confirm the change.
