SAM and installing patches via ftp server
I could have sworn that I have used SAM in the past to get patches from the FTP patch server. I am using the ftp server us-ffs.external.hp.com. I am nout sure of the correct path though.

Re: SAM and installing patches via ftp server
Hi:
Typically, it's something like this:
ftp://ftp.itrc.hp.com/hp-ux_patches/s800/10.X/PHKL_12345
using anonymous ftp
Typically, it's something like this:
ftp://ftp.itrc.hp.com/hp-ux_patches/s800/10.X/PHKL_12345
using anonymous ftp
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: SAM and installing patches via ftp server
Hi Stephen,
The Site is //us-support.external.hp.com
you have to login using your itrc id and password.
Are you tring to download the patch through the make_depot/get_patch utility after the patch analysis, or just trying to download a single patch you want.
If you are doing first, the utility will download the patch on its own from hp website in the current directory, and make a depot of all the patches it downloads.
If it is the second case, you can download the patch from ftp.itrc.hp.com using annonymous ftp. You should get the current patch in ftp.itrc.hp.com/hp-ux_patches/s700_800/10.x"or"11.x/ if it has not been superceded,
IF the same has got superceded it will tell you the path from where you can still download the same. It will also point out the new patch.
Hpe this helps.
Thanks
