3Par 7200 'cluster not yet up'

Hi.

I am new to 3par (bought a used 7200 off ebay). When i try to perform a deinstall i get the following message:

'THis cluster is not yet up - please wait.'

It has been sitting for hours. What can i do to reset this? Looking to perform  'wipe and rerun ootb' and 'deinstall'

but can't.

Is there any SMI WHACK commands i can use?

Brian

Re: 3Par 7200 'cluster not yet up'

Hi briEPC,

Use the following manual node rescue procedure.

CAUTION: Use the following workaround only in an all nodes down scenario.

1. Use the SPMAINT 4.11.1 menu to configure node rescue.
This will create the /sp/prdall/ data/updates/os/updpkg/tpd-DEFAULT tar file and start the TFTP and rsync services on the SP.

2. Exit SPMANT, leaving the configuration as it is.

3. Open the /sp/prdall/data/updates/os/updpkg directory and remove the basefs.tar.gz file from the tpd-DEFAULT file.

4. On node 0, press CTRL+W to bring up the Whack> prompt. Then, enter the following commands:

Copy
• Whack>set perm cnt_no_os_boot=0
• Whack>set perm cnt_no_cluster=0
• Whack>set perm cnt_no_shutdown=0
• Whack>set perm cnt_os_panic=0
• Whack>set perm cnt_same_fatal=0
• Whack>set perm cnt_log_error=0
• Whack>set perm sys_serial=<storage_system_serial_number>
• Whack>net addr 10.xxx.xxx.xx
• Whack>net netmask 255.255.255.xx
• Whack>net server 10.xxx.xxx.xx
• Whack>boot net install ipaddr=10.xxx.xxx.xx nm=255.255.255.xx rp=10.xxx.xxx.xx::rescueide

5. Repeat step 4 for the other nodes.

6. After all the nodes are rescued, log in to the storage system as the root user, and then run the following command:

Copy
# onallnodes killall netcc

This causes the network configuration information to be read from the admin volume and will make it persist across reboots.

7. Run some show commands (such as showpd, showvv, showvlun, and statport) to make sure everything is working as expected.

8. Log in to the SP, and then remove and re-add the storage system.

Hope this helps.

Satish
