Hi
3par 7400 is in use.
Node0 on the controller is down.
An operator has unplugged and reseated node0.
After that, there is a loud noise.
Can the noise be reduced until the node is replaced
Is there still a lot of noise because node1 takes over node0 role?

SolutionHello @tnvjdbwj,
After the node failure and also when you reseat the node, it is normal that nodes make loud noise.
Because there will be lot of data moving between the drives, they spin at a higher rate, CPU utilization will be high as well. So the fans start blowing at their peak.
If both the nodes are working fine now, the noise will come to normal after some time.

Re: 3PAR 7400 fans making loud noise
Thank you for your answer.
Checking the part.
Before replacing node 0.
The failed node0 was re-seated.
Can a failed node0 also make noise from reconfiguration?

Re: 3PAR 7400 fans making loud noise
Hello @tnvjdbwj,
Chances are less that the failed and then reseated node makes loud noise.
The other (working) node and cages are expected to make a loud noise.

Re: 3PAR 7400 fans making loud noise
Hello @tnvjdbwj,
You can run the command 'showtask -active'. If there are any chunklets moving currently, you will see the relevant task for that.
You can run the command 'statcpu -t -d 15 -iter 1' to find if the cpu utilization is high at the moment. Usually when everything is fine, idle % will be above 90%. As much it is closer to 50%, you can consider it as high.
Run 'shownode -d' command output, under 'Power supplies' you will the fan state.

Yes. As @Cali said, 'checkhealth -d' lists several- system health parameters together.
