SolutionTotal Capacity = All over RAW Capacity (All your Disks)
Allocated = What is from your RAW Capacity used
Allocated Capacity = Is Allocated above
Block = Capacity used for Volumes (At the end going to Host)
System = Capacity needed for Raid Parity and Spare
Total (RAW) Capacity = Block + System (Parity+Spare+Internal) + Free Space

Re: Query: 3par capacity
Hello @isvargase,
That is a great explaination @Cali.
Adding on to that, here is the calculation on how you arrive at usable space calculation in 3PAR:
If you are using 10*1TB disks,
Each disk capacity is 1024GB
When admitted, each disk will produce around 940 chunklets (a chunklet = 1gb each)
(Just like your 64GB personal flash drive will provide only 56GB space)
In those 940 chunklets, by default around 9% of the capacity will be reserved for spare chunklets.
You will be left with 855GB or 855 chunklets in raw space.
On top of that, you will apply RAID. If you use RAID-5 with a set size of 5, your usable space will be 684GB for each disk.
So, 10*1TB disks with RAID-5 with set size of 5 will provide you around 6840GB usable space.
Based on the above template you can calculate in your case depending on the disk capacity, RAID type, set size etc.
Hope that helps.!

Srinivas Bhat
