I have a 3PAR 7200 with a Drive Shelf M6710. The system used to have 48 disks, but 8 disks have failed and were removed from the system. However, these disks are still marked as "failed" in the system, and because of this, I am unable to perform a system update. Does anyone know how I can completely remove these disks from the system?

Re: 3PAR Disk Removed
So use SHOWPD to see the Disk ID of the missing Disks.
Then use DISMISSPD <ID> to remove the missing Disks.
If the Disk were empty this would do, if there was data on missing Drives before you will need additional steps.
After, run TUNESYS.

SolutionHi @Ares03,
To completely remove the failed disks from your 3PAR 7200 system and allow the system to proceed with updates, you need to clear their references in the system configuration.
Firstly check the Disk Status>> once you’ve identified the failed disks, you need to remove them from the system>> Check the system status again to ensure the failed disks are no longer present>> Once the failed disks are cleared, proceed with the system update. Follow the update documentation to ensure all prerequisites are met.>> After the update, monitor the system for any further disk failures.>> Consider replacing the failed disks if additional capacity or redundancy is needed.
I hope this helps. Let me know
