Hi 555-denoh 

From the detailed logs shared, I see that the issue seems to be with the New disk, which is not correctly marked as the replacement for disk 5.
I also see that the service mag process is stuck and cannot proceed further. 

To resolve this issue, 

If possible, you may try using a new, different disk for the replacement. 

Next, the state of the service mag should be cleared.

     1. First, ensure that the disk at 0:5:0 is physically removed from the enclosure. and then 

     2. Run the command servicemag unmark 0:5:0

Now insert a new verified replacement disk into the slot. 

Wait for the system to detect the new disk, use the showpd command, and confirm the status of the newly inserted disk.

     3. Restart the servicemag using the command servicemag start -pdid 5

This would help in the reconstruction of the data on the new disk. 

If issues persist, please escalate to HPE support with the logs and outputs shared above.

Hi 555-denoh

The error message from the servicemag unmark 0:5:0 command is the result of a syntax error.
It looks like the servicemag command requires more context (either start, start -pd, or unmark -pd) and correct syntax, such as:
Please try the command again with the following syntax
servicemag unmark -pd 5
Also, follow the steps mentioned in my previous reply.

Thank you for sharing the output.
I see that the "servicemag unmark 0 5" command was executed successfully, as indicated by the system’s confirmation. This suggests that the magazine was successfully unmarked for servicing.

However, despite the successful execution, the showpd output still shows the following statuses for the drives at position 0:5:0

• Drive 5 (0:5:0?): Status remains degraded, with no free capacity.
• Drive 7 (0:5:0?): Status remains failed, with no free capacity.

I suspect that this could be due to an issue with the cage, magazine, or backplane at 0:5:0, and this requires further troubleshooting with complete log analysis.
Hence, I would appreciate it if you could contact HPE 3PAR Tech support and provide the output for checkhealth as well as showeventlog, so that the issue could be resolved as soon as possible.

5.Consideration
It can't be helped that PD7 failed.
PD9 succeeded with Servicemag resume . 
However, these two remain. How can I delete them?
