Re: 3PAR Disk Replacement LAB Failure
Hi 555-denoh
The error message from the servicemag unmark 0:5:0 command is the result of a syntax error.
It looks like the servicemag command requires more context (either start, start -pd, or unmark -pd) and correct syntax, such as:
Please try the command again with the following syntax
servicemag unmark -pd 5
Also, follow the steps mentioned in my previous reply.
hope this helps.!!
Regards
Mahesh

Re: Query: 3PAR Disk Replacement LAB Failure
Hi 555-denoh
Thank you for sharing the output.
I see that the "servicemag unmark 0 5" command was executed successfully, as indicated by the systemтАЩs confirmation. This suggests that the magazine was successfully unmarked for servicing.
However, despite the successful execution, the showpd output still shows the following statuses for the drives at position 0:5:0
- Drive 5 (0:5:0?): Status remains degraded, with no free capacity.
- Drive 7 (0:5:0?): Status remains failed, with no free capacity.
I suspect that this could be due to an issue with the cage, magazine, or backplane at 0:5:0, and this requires further troubleshooting with complete log analysis.
Hence, I would appreciate it if you could contact HPE 3PAR Tech support and provide the output for checkhealth as well as showeventlog, so that the issue could be resolved as soon as possible.
Hope this helps.!!
Regards
Mahesh.

Re: Query: 3PAR Disk Replacement LAB Failure
Hello @Mahesh202,
This is 555-denoh.
Thank you for your support.
I called tech support, but they couldn't help me because I don't have a maintenance contract for this 3PAR8450.
So, I got a new disk.
