3PAR Service Processor - Reset to Factory default
Hi,
is there an option from the console via ILO or via SSH (preferably SSH given the console options on this ancient ILO f/w) to reset a 3PAR Service Processor to factory defaults. Sadly I now only have SSH/ILO access to this device due to various services being migrated off the customer network. The SP is a GEN9 DL120 running SP version 5.1.3.0-29551.
As the system is being retired we just need to remove any config before de-racking. Hoping there may be a maintenance script that can be run from the command line?
< Update - I updated the ILO so i now have an HTML5 console at least>.
I have seen other posts suggesting i just re-image it from an installer ISO? I'll do assuming there's no way to do a cleandown from the command line or menu system on SP. Advice of course welcome.
thanks
Adam

Re: 3PAR Service Processor - Reset to Factory default
Hello @adamdb_uk
Hope you are doing well!
The supported way to return a 3PAR Service Processor appliance to factory state is to reimage/reinstall the Service Processor software (or use the SP web/GUI maintenance option if you still have network access to it).
With only ILO/SSH access your safest route is to boot the SP from virtual media (ISO) via iLO and run the SP reinstall/initialize procedure
Please contact HPE Support for further assistance.

Re: 3PAR Service Processor - Reset to Factory default
Thanks. I thought that was the case. Sadly I no longer have access to download the SP ISO's as the contracts have lapsed for these legacy arrays. So I'll guess I'll just have to use the array utility and reformat the drives instead.
thanks.
