3Par7200 node disk almost full
Good day
We are using a old 3par7200 that is end of life and out of support.
The unit keeps on sending alert that "root filesystem full" on node0. We are aware that only HPE can support with this problem using root account access but seeing that the unit is end of life and out of support I thought let me ask the community perhaps there is another way for us to resolve this problem.
Node rescue does not work as the cluster is not in a degraded status. Does anyone know if there is perhaps a command to force a node rescue because then the internal node disk will be formatted and data copied from the other node?
Thanks

Re: 3Par7200 node disk almost full
Interesting Question. I have seen those a few times and always HPE Support fixes this, by deleting unneeded log files.
I am thinking about, if it is possible to attach the Boot Disk to a PC and delete these Files.

Re: 3Par7200 node disk almost full
Hi Cali,
thanks for the advice
We are testing this on our lab 3par and we were able to mount the node disk externally. Do you perhaps know which files we can delete though to clear up space?
So this is not the actual node disk where we have the problem, this is our lab 3par node disk that we are testing with.
Thanks

Look for:
- syslog
- daemon.log
- auth.log

Thanks Cali, appreciate the advice.
Will post reply once we have done testing after clearing space on the node disk and putting it back in the array

Re: 3Par7200 node disk almost full
Hi,
We have a similar issu on our 3par storage array.
Have you found a solution to recover some free space ?

Re: 3Par7200 node disk almost full
Hi
We ended up getting support from HPE for this. Our account manager managed to find someone at HPE to assist and the HPE support deleted some unwanted files to get the node disk space used below the alert threshold.
Regards

Call HPE Support, or go the hard way above, if you have no support and this is only a non-production storage.
