Re: change threshold for SSD raw space allocation
Hi cgeorge0147,
Please follow the below steps to change the RawSpaceAlerts using CLI or HPE SSMC:
Using CLI::
1. Login to Putty using the IP address of the HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage.
2. Run the command “showsys -param” to see the existing Raw Space Alert parameters and their values.
3. Here, you can see the Raw Space Alerts for FC, NL and SSD drive types.
4. To set the Raw Space Alert for any drive type, run the command “setsys RawSpaceAlert<drive type> <value>”. In this instance we are setting the Raw Space Alert for FC.
5. To verify that the value is set, run the command “showsys -param”.
6. Now, you see the Raw Space Alert is set for FC drive type.
Using HPE SSMC::
1. Login to the HPE SSMC.
2. Go to the main menu.
3. Select “Systems” under storage systems.
4. All the connected Storage systems will be listed, select the storage system to edit the custom raw space alerts.
5. You will see the system details. Go to the “Actions” menu at the top right corner and click “Edit”.
6. Under the “System Parameters” pane, use the toggle to enable the alert for the drive type to specify the value. By default, these alerts are disabled.
7. Click “Ok” to apply the changes. This may take a few seconds.
8. Go to the Overview dropdown menu.
9. Select “Settings”.
10. Now, you see the changes are updated under the system parameters pane.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Satish

Re: change threshold for SSD raw space allocation
Hi cgeorge0147,
You need to set the RawSpaceAlert based on your environment and requirements.
For example, If you set the RawSpaceAlert to 85%, you will get the alerts when it reaches 85%.
If you set it to zero, you will not get the alert.
Note: The capacity thresholds for the user-defined Raw Space Alerts can be from 10 GiB to 100,000 GiB for each drive type.
Hope this helps.

Satish

Re: change threshold for SSD raw space allocation
Hi cgeorge0147,
You just need the give the value in Percentage (%), not in GB. If you want to disable the Raw Space Alerts, give the percentage as “Zero (0)’’.
The command to set the Raw Space Alerts is “setsys RawSpaceAlert<drive type> <value>”.
In your case the command can be “setsys RawSpaceAlert<SSD> <value>”
Note: If you want to disable the RAW space alerts, please give the value as 0 (Zero).
To verify the new Raw Space Alerts set, run the command “showsys -param”
Hope this helps.!
Regards
Anil
