Changing Set Size after adding disk drives

Hello everyone,

Quick question about 3PAR CPG Set sizes.

Current setup is 4 controller 3PAR system with total of 20 disks. Set size for current CPG is 8+2.

It is planned to add more disks in the future. Regarding this it makes sense to change set size in order to gain more space however what should be the correct way to change set size after disks are added?

Can you change Set size online from UI? Or a new CPG is necessary and the VVols should be moved to the new CPG?

From 3PAR best practices guide I've read that Set Size can be changed if configuration supports it. In our case it would, however is there any precautions to this?

Great you have a 3PAR, it is so relaxed.

You can change the settings on the current CPG you are using.
After that issue tunesys (In the SSMC at Systems > Action), this will change the RAID level on all VVs within that CPG.
(Without tunesys, all new Data is saved with the new Settings, and all old Data stay as it is.)

Or you create a new CPG with the new Setting and Migrate Volume by Volume with tunevv in the new CPG.

One at all, or Volume by Volume, your choice. Both are online.

Depending on your Type of Disk and Data it will need some time, but it is a background Task.
