CPG Expansion 3PAR 8200

Hello All,

I have a HP_3PAR 8200 with two cages.
I have only one CPG for Exchange (composed by 18 disks FC) in which only one VV is created
I newly added 30 Disks FC and ran the tunesys and tune vvcommand.

I still can see the free space on GUI (almost 55 To) but cannot add it to the existing CPG.

What shoul i check or do to expand the CPG size and then the VV size ?

Hi

if you run 

admithw

and 

tunesys

you don't have to do anything else by default all disks of the same type

are added to the CPG. that is all SSD or FC or NL. if the new didks are of the same type as the old ones

they are part of the CPG.

you can see from the output of showpd that data is spread across all disks if not you can run tunesys again.

when the CPG needs more disks space it take it from the system free space

Here is my OS version.

I do some search and find that there are some limitations on VV size (which is 16Tb).

Do you think that is the explanation why i cannot expand the virtual volume which is already 16Tb ?

Hi

yes Minimum – Maximum Volume Size 256MiB – 16TiB  this is system limitation

I thought your plroblem was you could not use the new added disks
