Hi,
I' need to be clear about the space used by the cpg "fc_r5_300_15k ", the cpg has 72 drives (300G FC 15k) and 11 vols. The total amount of vvols size is 5.6 TiB and 3.1 TiB used space. Those 72 types of drives are only use by this cpg.
This cpg with that amount of drives and raid type should have the total raw capacity of 19.13 Tib and usable capacity of 13.51 TiB, am I right?
Why at ssmc in the drive capacity panel shows me 16,506 GiB used, and the vvols are only using 3.1TiB? I'm confuse, I know that the drive capacity panel shows raw capacity, but I dont know why that amount of space used.
I've already run compactcpg -dr and there's no space to reclaim
compactcpg output

From the command outputs what I understand is,
Each 300gb FC disk produces 272 chunklets (1gb each). (272*72=19584gb)
Among the total of 19584 chunklets, 1007 chunklets are reserved as spare. (These will be used when chunklets fail due to disk failure etc.) And 1 chunklet failed (19584 - 1007 - 1 = 18576 chunklets)
Among 18576 chunklets 3078 are free. These will be available for further data writes from hosts. (18576-3078 = 15498)
15498 are the used chunklets by the volumes.
To summarise 19584gb total, 15498gb used, 3078gb free, 1007gb spare, 1gb failed.
If the total used capacity of the volumes is inside the CPG 'fc_r5_300_15k' is lesser than 15tb, there are chances that AO is using the FC space of those (72*300gb) drives or the space may be shared by other CPGs.

Hi Javier,
As I see the outputs above, it seems there is a lot of snap space (used and reserved) for this CPG. Check the array and find whether any snaps really present and if not, the advice is to run 'freespace' command against each VV so that the reserved (and unused) snap space comes back to the pool. Please remember, you need to run compactcpg after using freespace commands.

@sbhat09 there's not AO configured with this CPG.
@veeyarvithe total amount of space used by snapshots is less than 1GB
Actually I moved 10 volumes to another CPG, and the CPG is still showing a usage space that not matches the real usage. I just left 1 volume of 5GB and the drive capacity shows me 12TB used.

This needs further investigation.
Command outputs show that your FC 15K 300gb * 72 drives are largely used for sure. Run the below command for some individual PDs for sample (you can run for all 72 PDs one by one as well) to understand which volumes are using those disks.
showpdvv -sum <pd_id>
Based on which VVs are consuming space from those PDs, you can try to find which CPGs are sharing those drive space.

Hi @sbhat09 , I found with showpdvv command that all of 300GB disks has volumes that belongs to others CPGs, I dont know why those volumes has data on this type of disks. The CPGs were created with a specific type of disk.

It required intensive log analysis to find why those 300gb FC disks are sharing other CPG data. I need a bunch of log outputs and other details from you. Please let me know which of the below options works for you?:
1. If call-home is working for this system, please share the system serial number in private message. I will try to fetch the required details here. Or
2. Generate insplore logs and share them via FTP. Or
3. I will ask for the details and command outputs, please share them here as required. Or
4. Contact HPE support and open a case for further assistance.

Sorry for the delay response, the 3PAR contract is inactive but is in the process of contract renewal.
I guess, I found the reason why some vols are using those drives (300GB FC), the other cpgs were created only using the filters devtype FC and devid model and not with a specific size of disk using the filters options: -tc_gt , -tc_lt, is it correct?

You are absolutely right. CPGs created with default configuration can consume chunklets from any drives of the devtype. You can place some restrictions by using -tc_gt , -tc_lt options while creating the CPGs.
