EVA to 3Par Online Migration of ORACLE RAC
Hello,
we are preparing migration of ORACLE RAC LUNs from an EVA 8400 to 3Par 8400 using Online import.
As stated in the official white paper doc and in hpe community blog post migrating a linux system does not require downtime and the only specification for ORACLE RAC is to use "Consistency groups" feature to ensure mirroing of all writes to the source volumes till the end of the migration process.
My concern an questions are related to :
1. do we have to halt Oracle RAC and database services to prevent accidental corruption even if it's theoretically supported to do it (the online migration) while production is ON ?
