Failed disks 3PAR 7400

3pair 7400
Release version 3.2.1 (MU5)
Patches: P39, P46
Path 2:2:0
Disks ID 4 failed and IDs 15 and 173 degraded
After this first replacement, the servicemag failed, and we found chunklets stuck to the removed disk that failed.
Failed chunk:
A second replacement occurred. After this action, a new disk took the position with ID 15, keeping ID 173 stuck to the set (2:2:0).

How to solve ID4 disk problem (path 2:2:0)?

Re: Failed disks 3PAR 7400

Hi r3nato,

By redistributing chunklets, dismissing the failed disk, replacing it, and rebuilding degraded disks, you can restore normal operation to your HPE 3PAR 7400 system.
If issues persist, or if you encounter errors during these steps, it is recommended to reach out to HPE Support for further assistance, as they can provide deeper insights into stuck chunklets and servicemag failures.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Satish

Re: Failed disks 3PAR 7400

Thanks for the reply. But how do I solve this problem? Both attempts to replace the disk path 2:2:0 failed. ServiceMag failed. Even though the disks with IDs 4 and 173 don't exist physically, they have chunks associated with them. Would compactcpg work? "The command line manual says: The compactcpg command consolidates logical disk space in Common Provisioning Groups (CPGs) into as few logical disks as possible, allowing unused logical disks to be removed and their space reclaimed."

Re: Failed disks 3PAR 7400

@r3nato,

To replace the drive or detailed troubleshooting, you may need to log a support case with HPE support team along with Insplore log from the respective array.

Please let me know if you need any further question.

Thank you
