How to check the Array Uptime metric for a 3PAR Array - and the Availability (%)
I am aware of performing Health Check on the 3PAR using CHECKHEALTH command, HIST commands, SYSTEM REPORTER commands
How do we determine the Availability of an Array over a period of time:
Availability (%) = (Uptime + Scheduled Downtime) / Total Time x 100
Available means all of the Storage Services are fully functional in accordance with their published specifications and can be used for the purpose that they were originally designed and built for.
Uptime means as the number of hours during the measurement period that the Storage Services are Available.

Re: How to check the Array Uptime metric for a 3PAR Array - and the Availability (%)
Hello @BasitKhan,
I don't see any template for calculating the complete system availability percentage as per your requirement. You can consider making it as below:
Availability (%) = {[(Uptime + sched downtime) - downtime] / Total time} * 100
Downtime = duration of service non-availability or system/component degraded state.
(Downtime will not include any service/component failures which are protected by redundancy by design. For example, disk failures are protected by RAID, ports are protected by redundant ports, links are protected by persistent multipathing.)
You can get scheduled downtime from internal data. Except the scheduled and unscheduled downtime, the rest is uptime.
Now, to calculate Availability (%), you just need to know downtime as you defined it.
You can plan your System reports and Threshold reports to precisely track the downtime.
