HPE 3PAR DEDUPLICATION

Hello All,

Could you please help me understand does HP 3PAR supports inline compression? If not what is the exact schedule for the dedup to run on VV.

Basicalluy i am trying to update the snapshot volume(updatevv) on HP 3par using some external script for backup purposes, however the updated of snapshot fails with following error "VV has dedup accounting in progress. Please retry later."

How to over this issue? is there a way i can schedule a deduplication to run at different time in a day?

Hi Yogananda,

Yes. 3PAR supports inline deduplication/compression.

Have you tried updateVV some other time later as well?

HPE 3PAR deduplication is inline.

(From some old notes) The shared DDS volume needs dedupe accounting from time to time and when that happens region mapping operations are not allowed.
"retry later", later being 20-40 minutes based on what I've seen.
