Re: HPE SSMC
We see that you are using “3PAR Management Console” but that is no longer active and it was already replaced by “HPE 3PAR StoreServ Management Console”.
SSMC is just management appliance and no impact on 3PAR system whatever you do with “3PAR Management Console” or “HPE 3PAR StoreServ Management Console”.
You can also download by using this link,
https://h20392.www2.hpe.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=SSMC_CONSOLE
For this you need HPE Passport login.
Please find the Admin Guide/user Guide/Release notes which will guide you with installation and how to add 3PAR to this SSMC along with usage. Please note you need to add 3PAR from SSAC (StoreServ Admin Console) and that is one time activity. After that to manage the 3PAR you need to always login to SSMC(StoreServ Management Console).

Re: HPE SSMC
Yes, you can connect multiple Console with different Versions in parallel.

Re: HPE SSMC
You can manage a 3PAR system using the command line (either external CLI or an SSH session), the (obsolete) 3PAR Management Console, or the StoreServ Management Console (SSMC). All simply send commands to the 3PAR system. Since everything is done on the 3PAR system itself, any of the management methods can be used, and they can be used simultaneously; just remember the last command wins.
Going forward, new features have been added with 3PAR OS 3.3.1 with more to come. The 3PAR Management Console does not have the ability to make use of the new functionality nor will it. As mentioned earlier, for a GUI interface, you need to install and use SSMC, preferably with either Chrome or Firefox.
SSMC v3.6 is an appliance running as either a Hyper-V or VMware virtual machine. If you don't have either, install SSMC v3.3.1.

Re: HPE SSMC
Bear in mind though if you run multiple SSMC for redundancy, there are some things you would need to dupliacte/repliacte manually (I know of no other way) between the appliances.
From memory, snap naming policies, and snap policies are stored on the SSMC, so when you log into your "backup" SSMC you dont see them unless you create the same ones on that appliance also.
A bit of a pain, but we run two SSMC so if one DC is offline, we can still manage other storage with the other appliance.
