Naming of 3PAR patches
Hi,
I'm new in 3PAR and I want to know the differences in naming of patches.
Which is the difference between 3.2.2 patches GA, EGA, MU1, MU2 ?
Specifically, what is mean GA, EGA, MU ?
What is mean P", for example "P07" ?
Which is tailored for an 3PAR 7400c ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Naming of 3PAR patches
About the names
GA gerneral availibility
MU maintenance update
EMU enhanced maintenance update
P patch
all are numbered, like P007 (patch 007), EMU1, etc ...
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Naming of 3PAR patches
There is always a number of a version
example:
InformOS
3.2.2
+ a build number
example:
3.2.2.290
Some versions are classified as a major or minor step, called GA, MU, EMU, etc...
Example:
3.2.2.290 is known as 3.2.2GA
3.2.2.390 is known as 3.2.2MU2
3.2.2.612 is known as 3.2.2MU4
3.2.2.709 is known as 3.2.2MU6
there are patches for each of this versions
example:
3.2.2.725 is 3.2.2MU6+P99
run "showversion" or "showversion -a -b" on your 3PAR to get your version.
More or less the same applies to the Service Processor (SP).
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
