reset defult password console

hi guys

i cant login to console (mfg port) with defult password(user: console pass: cmp43pd) after successful upgrade to os ver: 3.2.2.390-EMU2 on to 3par 7400

how to change this password becuse i need to wipe 2 storage 7400 and this problem exists on both devices.

i can connect to storage with ssh and 3par sccm

please guide me

After the Update, the Password is now encypted.

You can Call the Support and they give you a Time-Stamped One-Time Password.

If we consider this scenario is correct.
So why the password is changed? For some reason I can't contact to help center.

In the Past the Serial Login use a public known password.

So everyone who have Serial Access can login to the System.

Some Customer using "Serial to LAN"  converter.

This Issue was fixed ba a Firmware Update, now after the Setup, the Password is encrypted.

same issue here - have  8440 with unknown passwords; boot loader has a password as well so root password is not easy to reset.

i could take out sata ssd boot disk and stick it into another pc, but perhaps somebody has less invasive solution?

I am afraid that you will need to contact HPE support to get help.

Default root- or console- access is, for good reasons, not shared, or simply not available ( usually a time-based password, only available to HPE-support people ) as this would be a security hole.

but i need to reset 3par consle user when connected to mfg cable with cli or putty 

and reset user 3paradm  

idont have service processor connected to reset users

Hi smartanas,

Without Service Processor, it is not possible to reset the password for 3paradm.
So, please contact HPE Tech support to resolve the issue.

Call HPE Support, this is in that Case the only way.
They can generate a temporary short term root password and reset the 3paradm password.
