Re: the total ssd raw space usage at above 100% of total size
Hi sathish1983,
Please try to follow the below steps to reduce RawSpace on your SSDs.
1. Make sure you are not overcommitting space by reviewing your provisioning and data usage. There may be a reason for this, such as thin provisioning or snapshots.
2. Thin provisioned volumes can be reclaimed if the capacity is no longer needed.
3. Identify volumes and snapshots that are no longer in use, or where data can be migrated or archived. Before deleting any data, make sure you have backups or copies.
4. To free up SSD space for more critical workloads, migrate less critical data to lower-tier storage (e.g., from SSDs to HDDs).
5. You can save space by enabling and optimizing deduplication and compression for your workloads.
6. If volumes are presented to servers, ensure that the hosts release the storage space when it is no longer required. Hosts need to release space from deleted files or volumes.
7. Ensure that your storage policies, such as snapshots and backups, align with your actual data management needs.
8. Check your workloads and data before making significant changes. Make sure you have a backup or failover plan in case of an issue.
Lastly, You may need to consider expanding your storage system with more drives or shelves if you are consistently having space issues.
Make sure to set the "RawSpace Alert", setting the Raw Space Alerts on the HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage system helps you to monitor the capacity utilization and take the necessary action as needed.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Satish
