VSI OpenVMS on 3PAR 8k with 3PAROS 3.3.2EMU1
Hello Team,
IHAC that is running VSI-Openvms V8.4-2L1 on a 3PAR 8K with 3PAROS 3.3.1 MU5.
They have aquired a Primera and want to replicate both arrays via FC, bangalore is saying they haven't tested VSI-V8.4-2L1 on 3PAROS 3.3.2, which will allow RCFC, 3PAROS 3.3.1MU5 only allows RCIP.
Has anyone know of a customer that has upgraded to 3PAROS 3.3.2 and OpenVMS still working ok?
Thanks & Best Regards,
Luis Solorzano

Re: VSI OpenVMS on 3PAR 8k with 3PAROS 3.3.2EMU1
Hi Luls,
Yes, only RCIP is allowed from a 3PAR running on 3.3.1 MU5 to Primera (and need 3.3.2 for RCFC support). However, 3.3.1 MU5 moved to inactive and 3.3.2 is the default version for 3PAR - so upgrade is not a bad idea. Also, there is no much difference between 3.3.1 MU5 and 3.3.2 related to restrictions so there should not be any issue with running VSI-V8 4.2L1.
The ideal approach is, reach out to the consultant or pre-sale executive (if this solution was in plan while procuring the new array) to get this double confirmed.
