9000/E35 data recovery

Hi, I have an 9000/E35 that lost the boot drive but my data drive is still good. I have an identical machine with a fresh 10.2 install that I would like to put the data drive into. Is it as easy as popping in the drive and creating a new lvol to access my data or will it destroy my data on my second drive? If it will destroy the data how would I go about doing this?

any help would be appreciated

A few days back I saw this answer from Denver Osborn.

This should work on a 10.20 system too.

Jesse: is this an LVM disk? If so, you should be able to have LVM on the new system find it with a 'vgscan'. You can use 'vgimport' to import it into your working system.
