Adding second cpu to K-220

Hi,

took a cpu from one K-220 and added it to a K-220 that only had one other cpu. boots with error message.
firmware is 2.9.
Can I not just add a cpu and the system picks it up on reboot without changing anything else?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Adding second cpu to K-220

What is the error message? was the cpu working in the other box?

Re: Adding second cpu to K-220

There is nothing that you have to do except for adding cpu in the proper sequence.
The first 2 cpus go into the front whereas the other 2 are inserted at the back.

If cpu is normal, it would be recorgnized automatically during boot process.

Re: Adding second cpu to K-220

The cpu was working fine in the other box.

The error is:

WARN 7703

and in the boot menus it shows 2 processors. One is active and the new one is idle. Should they not both say active? Thanks.

Re: Adding second cpu to K-220

problem solved. Realized the warning error was coming from some memory that was moved over at the same time. processor is working. Thanks for help
