Anyone know what this is?

We have a cabinet we pulled out of an office location that is approximately 6' tall, 20" wide, and 30" deep. It has a Texas Instruments label on it saying "DS 990 model 4" and part # 0945095-0011. It appears to be a server cabinet, but I can't find any info on it. TI says it is something that they made for HP, so it won't give me any info on it. Any ideas?

Hi,

From what I found, label is for TI minicomputer of 990 series produced in 1970's-80's. Try to see this link

From the picture I see a prime example of a 6 foot, 19 inch equipment rack. If you have to have one of these for any rack mounted stuff, you will save yourself several hundred dollars by using that one. Now the bad news, they usually aren't worth too much on the used market. They are heavy and cost a lot to ship. They are primarily used for housing computer or datacom equipment.

It a tardis (Time And Realtive Dimensions In Space), rubbish acronym. here is a picture of another one...

Really... they can morph into any shape you like. I believe this belongs to the evil "master". If you do happen to see someone with a black cape widows peak, generally evil looking chap... LEAVE HIM WELL ALONE or you may end up being dispersed into a million different dimensions or being placed into an unstable dimensional vortex as bait for the Doctor (Tom Baker is my favorite)

Just my 0.02??? woth
