cable pinouts

hi,

does anyone out there know the pinouts for a db25 male to db9 female cable part# A5176-63002 rev.A? and what might be the correct forum for accessory questions such as this? thanks, any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Matt: actually, you are looking for the pinouts on an HP DB9-DB25 cable, which is NOT the same as the standard industry pinout mentioned.

The cable you asked about is a very short console cable, to connect the external "secure web console" to an R-class server. This is about 15" long, and has the same pinout as the standard 24542G 3-meter console cable that goes from the DB9 on all HP 9000 servers (D- and K-class on up), to the DB25 on the dumb terminal console (or Secure Web Console, if you prefer).

You can either order the cable you referenced from partsurfer (see below for contact info), or order a 24542G console cable (same pinout as the short cable, interchangeable except for length), from your HP rep or reseller (or partsurfer), or make your own, using the following link:

i got a couple answers to my question but what i forgot to mention was that i also wanted to know what each pin was for, ie. which one is cts, rts, rxd, txd, etc. the wiring diagram is useful but i would appreciate any help in finding out which pins do what. thanks.

I am looking for the Cable Pinouts for a HP 435B Power Meter.  I have the Scematic to build my own Power Sensor but I need to know the Pinouts for the cable connection.  Or are they the same as the Pinouts for the Power Scensor.
