Venu,
So far is nothing wrong.
What happened after the [bumped?] message? Nothing? Did you already try to reset the GSP? (from the OS on the L-Class type: stty +resetGSP
There is no good troubleshooting with bad data

After bumped user mesg

no key stroke is working.

Is it a must to reset the GSP?

what all will i need to reconfigure if i do it?

Venu,
The reste is like a power cycle of the GSP. You will noy lose the configuration of the GSP. You can do it even with the OS up and running. It will do no harm to the system.
