Re: Disble 2nd CPU on HP A Class Servers
Hi,
You can control which process to run on which CPU you like with the process affinity (setproc.c) (by Bill McNarma --- I'm not sure)
here:

But I don't know how to disable a processor or even if it is possible through software!!??

Re: Disble 2nd CPU on HP A Class Servers
reboot the machine, interrupt the boot process (by pressing any key within 10 seconds from console)
main menu> config
main menu> proc
main menu> pro 1 off ( 0 for first cpu 1 for 2nd cpu , 2 for 3rd cpu et all..)
main menu> reset
now the m/c will boot with only one cpu (i.e cpu 0) if you have only 2 cpu's.

You can enter the boot manager and then do:
co (for config)
proc (processor)
pro 1 off (off the second processor)
Then restart the station

Re: Disble 2nd CPU on HP A Class Servers
1. Reboot the system
2. 10 second window > interrupt the boot process
3. co - enter configuration menu
4. cpu - get the list of cpu
5. cpu
6. reset - reboot the system

Ctrl-b
ss
That will list the processors.
As far as I know there is no command to disable the cpu. You'll have to open the box and remove the second CPU.
I've seen that done, its not terribly hard.
Then you'll have to put it back in and configure it, also with GSP. That has to be done explicitly.
I bet GSP does have a command for that. If there is a configure command, there must be an unconfigure command.

Re: Disble 2nd CPU on HP A Class Servers
on my opinion, to be disable/enable funtion of CPU on A-class is not exist.
So you should open/remove CPU which second(not monarch).
Gool luck!
