Disk access
Is there a command to have a hot swap drive light to know it's path and physical location by disk access lights? We've had situations where we've had 8 drives and one reports bad, and I'm not sure which drive physically it is...

Re: Disk access
What kind of drives are you using? Is it in an array of some sort?

Re: Disk access
Maybe you can just run a dd on all the devices and the LED on the drive will light up (usually blinking green light), thus giving you the visual identification of a good drive. On the bad drive you would get IO error when you run dd.
# dd if=/dev/rdsk/cXtYdZ of=/dev/null bs=512k
# dd if=/dev/rdsk/cXtYdZ of=/dev/null bs=512k
