I have a N4000 server with a 10/100 Mbps card.
I need to have a gigabit ethernet connectivity for this server. Does anyone know if gigabit ethernet card is supported at all on a N4000 server running HP-UX 11.00 ?
If yes which model.
Thanks a lot,
Ninad

Solution1000Base-SX fiber: A4926A
1000Base-T copper: A4929A
To get this information: Go to partsurfer.hp.com, search with "N4000" as "model number or name". When you get the product information page for N4000, select the parts listing by keyword "Interface (Product)". You'll get a listing of all network interfaces compatible with a N4000, whether Ethernet, FibreChannel, FDDI or X.25.

Re: Gigabit ethernet card support for N4000 server HP-UX 11.00
Support matrix for GbE is here:
http://docs.hp.com/en/supportmatrixEthernetJune05.pdf/supportmatrixEthernetver1June05.pdf
Looks like some cards do work in rp7400 (N4000) - A6825A would do the trick...

Re: Gigabit ethernet card support for N4000 server HP-UX 11.00
Just a small doubt -
is A4929A supported HP-UX 11.00
is A6825A supported on N-Class 11.00
I was searching the net for this, got some docs, but still had this confusion, so thought of clarifying this with you guys.
Points are on their way - as I dont want to give less points now as well as dont want to indicate it as resolved by giving more points. Hope you understand.
Thanks,
Ninad

Re: Gigabit ethernet card support for N4000 server HP-UX 11.00
Looking at the table in the release notes I pointed ypu at, you will see that the 4th column lists the name of the driver required for various versions of HP-UX for that card. If the OS is listed there with a driver, then its supported. Looking at the 2 cards mentioned it looks like A6825A is supported on 11.00 with driver igelan, and A4929A is supported on 11.00 with driver gelan.
So yes, both of them work with HP-UX11.00 (11.00 is just going out of support - you do know that yes?)
