Gui in hp-ux 10.xx?
Does 10.xx have a gui interface? If so how do I enable it? I don't know enough about Unix to go only command line yet. I would like to download and upgrade my firmware before upgrading the os to version 11.11i. Is there a web browser in version 10 as well?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi,
HPUX 10.20 has CDE as login.
If dtlogin is running then you can connect through an X emulator
Netscape is also available for 10.20

Re: Gui in hp-ux 10.xx?
10.20 has CDE. By default it is active at run level 3.(the default run level). You will need a GUI program such as Hummingbird Exceed or WRQ Reflections on your PC in order to access the GUI interface.

Re: Gui in hp-ux 10.xx?
Hi,
CDE is available in 10.20 as well and you can connect to it as posted earlier.
BTW upgrading the firmware do not require a GUI, you can download firmware patch from any source and then can transfer it and install it using
#swinstall -s /path_to_patch.depot
