Hi All!
I would like your assistance on finding System Compatibility and requirements issues.
We have H50 Servers which needs to be utilized efficiently to use Oracle 8.1.7 Database with SAP4.6C.
Is it possible to install Oracle 8.1.7 in a server like this. if Possible what are the system requirements needed.
Appreciate your help,

Re: H50 with oracle 8.1.7?
SAP4.6C takes considerably more system resources than previous versions. It is a pig. Our plans were to double the number of processors and memory in our V2500 before upgrading. You just can not do that with an H50.
It may come up but, I would be surprised if you got anything approaching acceptable performance.

Re: H50 with oracle 8.1.7?
The H50 was a great machine a many years ago but it would be like trying to run WindowsXP on a 386 PC. Way too slow, and far too little memory (you'll need 4,000 megs minimum, 6-8,000 for reasonable performance). You'll need dozens of Gbytes of disk space just to load Oracle and SAP and you can expect response times to be measured in minutes.
Now if you run a small database from 5-6 years ago and write some efficient user interface code, you'll be OK. Otherwise, you need to find a nice home for the H50's and replace them with some rp servers.
