Help with bootingup a A500 System

Hello,

I am trying to bootup a HP A500 system. The product code on the box is A5570B.

When I power on the machine, it displays

"ALERT LEVEL: 14 = Fatal Power on Environment problem prevents operation"

-> Choice:

I press X to ignore the message. Then it displays an alert.

SYSTEM ALERT

Alert Messages are now disabled. Enter command interface AC Command to enable.


The machine hangs at this point.

Can some one help please ?

Hi,

Alert Level 14 is an environmental issue, relating to power, overtemp, fan failure, etc.

You could try to power off/on the system, look at next treath,

Hello,

Thank you for the response. More than the error message, I am interested in getting this machine bootup and load UNIX.

I have tried power cycling the machine several times and it comes to the same spot and just hangs.

While reading the other thread, it appears that I need to call HP and get a tech to come in and have a look.

If anyone has any other ideas or experiences, I would welcome that.

No Call HP-CRC, thats one off the reason's i've copied the threath in your call.
