how to identify kingston memory on a system
If a system has both HP and kingston memory DIMMS, is there any way to determine which vendor DIMM is in what slot.
I know how to use stm(cstm/mstm/xstm) to determine the capacity of the memory dimm in the slots, but what i am looking for is to identify the vendor(HP/kingston) as well.
I am trying to find this information without shutting the machine down (but ofcourse ;)

Re: how to identify kingston memory on a system
model of HP 9000 you have.
Some newer models *do*
have the ability to
determine the manufacturer
of the memory DIMMs (despite
what an earlier poster said :)
In fact, the A-Class
can generate a message noting
that some of your memory
isn't from HP :)

Re: how to identify kingston memory on a system
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out how to use that to my advantage. Someone out there knows a command to grab that information. If you are he/she and read this, please respond to this persons post.
