How to reset MP (LanConsole)

Hi all,

we administrate several UNIX machines remote.
Now I forgot the MP login. Any chance to reset the MP remote?

Any help would be nice. Thanks

Re: How to reset MP (LanConsole)

Hello,

You can try with,

# stty +resetGSP < /dev/GSPdiag1

Also, look at these threads,

Re: How to reset MP (LanConsole)

For a passwd reset you need to hard reset the MP pressing the reset button more than 5 seconds.

Re: How to reset MP (LanConsole)

Well what will be the default password after the reset? I can't do that, the machine is some 100km away:-((

This command did not work:
root@s263[/]# stty +resetGSP GSP reset failed.

The model is a HP 9000/800/rp3410

Thanks!

Re: How to reset MP (LanConsole)

Hi,

There is a reset switch in the MP which you can use to reset the MP settings and password. Some servers (N class) you have to open the chassis to access this.
The default user is Admin\Admin

Re: How to reset MP (LanConsole)

Hi,

The only option is to hardware reset of MP having physical access to the system. The command mentioned earlier do not work for MP but is for systems with GSP only.

Re: How to reset MP (LanConsole)

Thank you all. A guy at the location will try to reset the hardware within this day.

Will let you know if it'll work then.

Thanks.
