Remember to do this when you have the luxury of downtime should this screw up.
Should the firmware update screw up for any reason I believe it will behave like any screwed up firmware update..... You will lose the GSP.
To get the GSP back if the firmware update goes South you will have to replace the EPROM chip (actually you will call HP to come out and do it. Got a service contract? What is the response time?)
BTW, just what is in this firmware update that is so all fired important to you? What new feature is it that you can't live without? What bug fix? If it is working fine I would be very hesitant to update it. (Rule one of system administration: If it ain't broke, don't fix it).
