HP 9000 rp3410 ilo login and password
We have just purchased a brain new HP server mentionned above. We've linked the server and a laptop via a network cable to configure it because the server has no video card :(. We used the arp command to assign an IP address. We then opened a web browser and tiped the server ip adress, but it asks us a login and a a password. We tried admin/admin, but it did not work and it seems that the password is too short. I read somewhere that a part of the serial number is used for the password, but i dont know how and unfortunately i cannot do anything without that userid and that password. I hope that someone can help. Sorry for my poor english as im a french-speaking person.
Thanks for your help.
Regards.

Re: HP 9000 rp3410 ilo login and password
Default is Admin/Admin (capital A) - operator is Oper/Oper.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP 9000 rp3410 ilo login and password
Please check the rear (back) side of the server you can see MANAGMENT SERAL 25 pin serial port and serial A 9 pin port.
from the above said port you can access MP/Console by connecting a SERIAL CABLE TO teh respective serail port to your laptop serial port.
After connecting the LAPTOP via serial cable , use HYPER TERMINAL to open the session with the server.
if you get local console login screen (HPUX login) then PRESS CTRL+B key it will give you, MP login prompt,
here you can use Admin/Admin or Oper/Oper or NO userame/password (press enter/enter to continue)as username/password.
if you are in the MP prompt MP>CM>LS command will lan status.
MP>CM>LC option will give to reconfigure lan parameter.
NOTE : In MANAGEMENT PORT(25 PIN serial PORT) W cable should be used .
W cable will give 3 9 pin seral functions= CONSOLE/REMOTE/MODEL
