HP K9000 (HP-UX 10.20)
Hi!
I have a problem with a HP K9000 (HP-UX 10.20)
+ (HSz50) Digital Storage Works Raid Array.
The Storage Works is configured the following way
4x4GB Raid0
4x4GB Raid0
4x9GB Raid0
Now everything seems to be detected fine by the HP-system,
just the following seems a bit odd.
Hardware Number Volume Total
Path of Paths Use Group Mbytes Description
----------------------------------------------------------------------
10/0.0.0 2 Unused -- 16363 DEC HSZ50-AX
10/0.0.2 1 Unused -- 52058 DEC HSZ50-AX
The 9GB drives look alright and the whole capacity is shown, but on the
4GB drives, I only have half the capacity and number of paths=2.
Shouldn't that be 10/0.0.0 for the first Array, 10/0.0.1 for the second
one ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: HP K9000 (HP-UX 10.20)
Tejas,
To me it would appear that you are seeing the additional 16GB on the LUN2 path. In other words, 4x9=36GB + 4x4=16 total=52GB. As to the pathing, look into the latest patches for WSIO SCSI, check your PDC firmware, and if using SAM, patches for SAM. If you're using the 10.0 path, be aware that this is the same path that your internal disks reside (if you have your boot disk internal). If this is the case, you may want to put your DSW Array on a different path. HP-UX 10.20 may still have some difficulty defining your array after patching. You may want to consider installing (not updating) to HP-UX 11.00 if possible. It simply tends to handle arrays better. Just my opinion.
HTH,
Dave
