Have a look at this link for connecting a modem

Re: HP MDP RS-232 Port - 5062-3054 - What do I need
Steve thanks for the pin-out info but want I really need to know is how to connect the MDP to my D370.
I already have the necessary cabling to connect my modems to the ports on the MDP.
I see there is a 9-pin RS232 on the side of the MDP. I assume I have to hook this up to my D-box via some sort of MUX card installed in my D-box.
I currently have a spare J2467 EISA Mux card but don't have a cable. Will the MDP work with the J2467 or does it require a special card.
thanks,
Doug

SolutionHave just double checked in our machine room.
We have an old
9000/856/E55 Model
We have an MUX card - APMUX16 - model A1703-60022. Cable is a 7 pin to a 9 pin 'D' connector to the side of the MDP. Then on port 1 we have a standard console cable to our console
Hope this helps

Re: HP MDP RS-232 Port - 5062-3054 - What do I need
I was just curious to see how many different Mux cards the MDP were compatible with.
