Hp9000 I70

Anyone knows what is the problem when a C3010M1 mech. is added to an existing C3040R disc enclosure (HP series 6000 rack mount)and IOMAP cannot see the mech.

I have never heard about a general problem with C3010M1 in a 6000 enclosure. Have you tested the disk with another system? If I remember right is the disk at least 4 years old and I wouldn't trust a disk of that age
There is no good troubleshooting with bad data

I presume that you have set the dip switch on the 6000 rack to the correct SCSI ID. Also a couple of year ago I was trying to install a SCSI disk into the 6000 rack from an old SCO server and had problems and the reason was that disk did not have the corrcet firmware loaded to be recognised by the HP system.

Re: Hp9000 I70

Looking at the Disk Service Manual in front of me, the C3010M1 is also known as a A2446A 2Gb SE SCSI drive. Looking straight on at the drive you will see two pins for the LED to the left then a grouping of 5 pins, a space, 2 more pins, a space, then 3 pins. These last three pins to your right are your SCSI address pins in the order of 1,2,4 from left to right.

The posting is a bit old but hope this helps...
I believe the problem (as least at the 11.0 OS level) is that the disk is so old it is no longer supported.
I upgraded a G30 to 11.0 and the C3010 disks are not seen any more. I've seen, somewhere, a disk support matix and the 3010 is unsupported above 10.20.
