I am trying to install HPUX 11i on an L3000 server and I am running into a problem. I can enter the service console but cannot get the system to boot from the dvd drive. I have tried to turn on autoboot to no avail. For some reason I cannot find the command in the help files in the console to boot from the dvd drive. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Kevin.

Solution
Hi Kevin,
I assume you are using the internal dvd drive.
You need to stop the boot process and put the path in:
---- Main Menu ---------------------------------------------------------------
Command Description
------- -----------
BOot [PRI|ALT|] Boot from specified path
PAth [PRI|ALT] [] Display or modify a path
SEArch [DIsplay|IPL] [] Search for boot devices
COnfiguration menu Displays or sets boot values
INformation menu Displays hardware information
SERvice menu Displays service commands
DIsplay Redisplay the current menu
HElp [
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Install O/S on L3000
How would i get to the menu, I am using the db25 connected to the console port and I can get into the GSP prompt and the console login, which being a used system has a login and password. I am not able to see that menu at all right now. Any suggestions. Still pretty new to unix and servers so things are different. Thanks for the help. Kevin.
