K360 - Processor Speed

I installed a new processor on a K360. The processor is a 180Mhz one.

When I went in PDC though it reported that Bus Frequency is 120Mhz.

Is the Bus frequency the same as the processor speed.

If this is the case and the system is underclocked because of wrong jumper settings , does this only require changing jumpers to 180Mhz or does it require change of crystal chip too ?

Re: K360 - Processor Speed

Just like a PC the busses external to the processor run at a lower speed than those inside. The core speed is 120 but the processor runs at 180

Re: K360 - Processor Speed

Stefan,
The 120MHz is the frequency of the runway bus that connects the CPUs. If you want to verify the CPU speed you may enter:
echo itick_per_usec/D | /usr/bin/adb -k /stand/vmunix /dev/kmem

itick_per_usec is the CPU frequency in MHz. Or take a look into SAM (Performance Monitors -> System Properties)

There is no good troubleshooting with bad data

Don't touch any jumpers or the clock chip! Cpu's install themselves on HP boxes. It is truly plug and play.
