My system currently has 4 gig of memory configured as below. Are all the memory slots taken? if I need to add memory, do I need to replace the 256 simms with 512 simms?

Hi Penni.
1. You K580 can have up to two memory carriers.
2. From your description you only have one installed right now.
3. Each carrier on a K580 can hold up to 16 memory boards, each "bank" of memory consists of two boards.
4. To take advantage of more than 4Gb of RAM you must be running the 64 bit version of Unix. However, the 32 bit version of HPUX has an option to allow you to use that extra memory in a "banked fashion". Search this forum, there is a thread on the concept and practice of this, RTFM

Can you please tell me if at all possible to address more than 3.75GB with 10.20 on K570 w/ 6 processors.
