Re: L2000
Hi,
Are backup of VG04 finally worked, after
I replaced the replacement drive. After
talking HP hardware support, he suggested that an external drive that powerfails and cause the bus to reset can make the root drive to give Fatal error 15 in the GSP log.
After doing a dd if=/dev/dsk/c1t2d0 of=/dev/null bs=1024k with the in and out
values matching. It this point we have allowed users to access the server. However,
I still am curious as to the correct procedure to doing the vgexport and vgimport and any other commands to restore the mis-matched disks as described above. Also,
my client has 2 external 4mm tape drives and
a DLT8000. Upon restoring the OS thru the ignite backup, one of the 4mm tape drives was
powered off, so that the /dev/rmt device files were renamed differently. Something for others to consider when restoring.
Thanks, for all your help

Re: L2000
Hi,
Sorry i was out on weekend.
You can always make out whether you are using the right device file or not by just
#diskinfo -v /dev/rdsk/cxtxdx
where cxtxdx is the device file for the disk.
If this diskinfo shows the size of the disk which you have then this is the correct device file if there is no size shown then it's the wrong and old device file.
I m still not clear whether you are through with your problem or still you are facing some.
Please revert if required..
