Memory Error Log
Hi, when I run 'echo "sc product memory;il"|cstm' on a J6000 with HPUX
11.00, I get the following (edited):
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Memory Error Log Summary
Error
Board Error Address Error Type Page Count
------------ ------------------ ---------- --------- -----
[snip]
System start: Wed Dec 31 19:00:00 1969.
Last error check: Mon Sep 10 16:12:40 2001.
Logging interval: 120 seconds.
250 address(es) with errors logged by memory logging daemon.
The Logtool Utility provides full details about the memory error log.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
How do I force a new error check? Which specific daemon provides
Memory Error log? How do I use Logtool Utility?
Thanks
Igor

Re: Memory Error Log
Igor,
You may want to track memory errors by running the following command and redirecting its output to a file:
echo "selclass qualifier memory;info;wait;infolog" |cstm > /tmp/meminfo
Regarding the Logtool, check out this link:

Re: Memory Error Log
Igor,
this [snip] contains most interesting and important information. Please attach (not post!) whole output of your command.
Basically, list should contain DIMM locations where error is detected, and addresses. Looking to this list you may have an idea if one or more DIMMs are not good
